Flipbook

112Flipbook Meddings Jacob - YouTube For this assignment we had to take hundreds of photos and edit them together in either photoshop or premiere and have the video have some sort of story. For my video I had it start off with the creation of aluminum foil people then it they start to play poker. After they play a few rounds of poker they start to get a little angry with each other and then they start fighting. In order to make this work I had to buy some aluminum foil, tape, and also use my poker set. After that I had to make to set up my camera on my tripod and make sure that the frame was good. While shooting I was pushing down on the camera to hard and making the tripod shake sometimes, I would also accidentally hit it sometimes and I would have to try and move it back.

Hyper-realism

For this assignment we have to take multiple different pictures and merge them together and have it look different.

Before:

After:

Here I had the portrait I took of my father and a up close picture I took of a tree, and I merged them together to make it look like he is wearing a camouflage looking shirt and hat. When making this I forgot about all the negative space on the left and did not edit it out of go with another photo, but I think it turned out all right. It worked out with the bright spot on his left shoulder because I was putting something over it, so it did not look as bright anymore. Some of the edits I did was I clone stamped parts of the tree bark onto his shirt, but I left the strips there, and also onto his hat. After I had the shirt and hat covered with the tree bark, I change the color of the bark from a light brown or tan color to a more green / blue color.

Portrait

The portrait assignment we needed to take picture of a person that is not ourselves and have it not look like they are talking their school pictures.

Before:                                                                          After:

With making the picture does not seem like a school photo I had my person looking up in the sky, looking back on the assignment it was one of the easier assignments that we had for this class. The person in my photo was my father and I took the photos while I was visiting my hometown for the weekend. I do think I could have done better on eliminating some of that negative space on the left of him so that the viewer is more drawn to the focal point. I also think I could have put him in a better spot in the yard so that the lighting is a little better and does not make his right shoulder so bright. The edits that I did to the photo was I change the color of his white shirt and all of his hat to a more teal or light blue color.

Panorama

For the panorama we needed to take at least five pictures of an area and merge them together in order to make a wide angel shot of the area

Before Merge:

After Merge:

Final:

For the panorama assignment we were supposed to gather any number of pictures of different viewpoints from the same spot, so only the camera moves side to side, to merge together a wide viewpoint of the area. For example, I took six pictures of the small lake and merged them into one wide angle picture. I feel like I was able to get everything in the picture and not have anything missing. For people that want to have more detailed and better-looking panoramas you would usually take more pictures while moving the camera a smaller amount of distance. Even with only have to move the camera five different times to get the different shots I still struggled with keeping everything level and I still had a lot of camera shake and a lot of the trees in the distance and even some of the ground in the foreground did not line up properly so I had to warp some of the images.

Things

For the Things assignment we had to take close up shots of object and make sure the background of the object was all blurry in order to create this depth of field for the object.

For the things assignment it was easy to know where I was going to take the pictures at, for example I any park or even around campus. All I needed to do was go somewhere that had flowers, leaves, or anything that had smaller objects and some good natural lighting. The hardest part about the assignment was making sure that the picture I was taking looked good and wasn't too bright or too dark to where it made the object look weird. Once all the pictures were taken and I was editing one of them all I needed to do was apply the photoshop techniques that I had learned from the previous assignments and edit the photo to make the object look better and stand out more. I did need to get close to some of the objects which did make me look a little weird while I was at the parks taking the pictures of a small flower on a bush or getting on the ground to take a picture of grass.

On The Edge

On The Edge we had to take pictures of objects that were on the any border of the frame and make the picture black and white and also using the dodge and burn photoshop technique that we learned in class

Original:

Final:

For the on the edge assignment, I think it is clear what the main object is in the picture and it's very small and not that noticeable but some of the shadows on the rock have been what is called burned and made darker and some of the sunlight was made brighter also called dodging. It was a little difficult to get the shod all-in focus at first because I didn't have a tripod or anything to keep the camera steady, but I was able to get one photo in focus and was able to upload it to photoshop and begin editing the photo.
